Be a Hero
Not a runner? That's OK. Many of us aren't either.
But, we can give a mean pitch to our friends, family, neighbors and co-workers about how far just $25 will go in helping a kid in Africa gain an education. (Hint: MUCH farther than it will go at your local school.)
Being a Hero is simple: commit to helping 10, 20 or 40 kids attend school. Each $25 you donate helps them and their schools buy the supplies they need to go to school for a year. Soon, $25 becomes $100, becomes $500, becomes $1,000. And at that point, you're changing the lives of a whole classroom -- ONE CHILD at a time.
Of course, there's some benefit to you. First, you'll get in to the race for free. Once you raise your first $100, you'll get a great t-shirt from us that only goes to Heroes. And, if you reach your goal, you'll get a great prize! (Kid Heroes Prizes / Adult Heroes Prizes)
Here's what you do:
- Complete the Hero Registration that follows.
- Commit to raising enough money to put 10, 20 or 40 kids in school. That's $250, $500 or $1,000.
- Put your first child in school by kicking off your efforts with a personal donation of $25.
- We'll send you a packet of information and keep sending you emails that will help you get started and keep going on your fundraising race. You'll also get your own online login page to keep track of your progress.
That's it. Pretty simple. Commit to helping a few kids, ask the people around you to donate, reach your goal, get a prize - and know that you've helped kids in Africa go to school so they can get out of the slums.
